Hitler began his political career in Munich. His party NSDAP was founded here. During the Nazi-Regime Munich bore the name "Capital of the Movement" and played an important role in the staging of political celebrations and the Führer myth.
On this tour I will share, what my grandmother told me about growing up in Munich during the Nazi-Regime. We will learn a lot about german history, about the rise and Fall of the Nazi-Regime. We will visit places of importance during that time, places you know from your history-books. And you will hear about restistance, that was taking place in Munich as well.
You will learn about munichs dark and difficult time, which involves topics that are hard to talk about, but yet it is important to do it, for this history may never be repeated.
On this tour we will see:
Marienplatz
Old Townhall
Hofbräuhaus
Opera House
Feldherrnhalle
Square of the Victims of National Socialism
the place of former GESTAPO headquarter
the formerly called "brown quarter"
Hitlers former office in Munich
Königsplatz
NS Documentary-Center (from outside)
I recommend to start at Marienplatz and end the tour at Königsplatz, for this is where NS-Documentary-Center is located. If you wish to go inside after our tour, the entrance is free.
The route can be customized to your wishes in any way. Please feel free to contact me.
