We will hike onto an extraordinary dump in our region that got transformed into a plant with renewable technologies of environment, into a location of research, a location of education (out of school) as well as a location for leisure time activities. You will follow a beamer lecture on this topic (now outside due to Corona virus) and you will be guided through parts of the plant being brilliant for architectonic reasons, too. You will see how different components of the plant work together. In the course of our trip we will hike onto the 110 meters elevated "cone of rubbish" - what is easily done if you have a certain endurance. From the top of the hill (360 m above sea level) you will have a spectacular outlook onto the landscape around you, for instance to the Rhine Valley in the west. Finally, there is the possibility to use two parallel slides from the top of the hill downward. Downhill in the Bistro - Café respectively Bistro - Garden we can have a snack if you want to and talk about the event. Finally, I will explain what the originally greek expression "Metabolon" means and how biodegradable rubbish is transformed into humus within a certain time in opposition to non-degradable and inert rubbish like plastic materials that remain unchanged for a long time. Eventually, it is important to check the drainage of the plant regularly in order to avoid the leaking out of poisonous liquids into the surrounding water body. Have a joyful day.
